Geordie Shore’s Gaz Beadle splits from wife Emma McVey, with whom he shares two children, at the end of 2023 after just two years of marriage
Geordie Shore star Gaz Beadle has been criticized by fans for apparently not helping ex-wife Emma McVey move out of the house they used to share.
The reality TV star was nowhere to be found as model Emma tidied up the house and carried boxes with her two helpers – son Chester, six, and four-year-old daughter Primrose, who she shares with Gaz – ready for the next chapter in their lives. Posting photos of the move on Instagram, the 31-year-old admitted she was “exhausted” and told her 895,000 followers: “MOVING DAY! We are ready! I packed the house, two children and two dogs. An exhausted mom, but I’m so proud of my two little humans, they are truly amazing.”
She continued: “It’s been a lot the last two years, and it’s been a lot the last three weeks before we moved, but we did it! My little team and a big thank you to my best friend @leahjorja_ because I absolutely could not have done this last week without you!”
But fans quickly commented asking where Gaz was and why he didn’t help with the move. One wrote: “Surely he should have always helped you x.” Another said: “Personally, I think Gary should have paid for the packing and moving for the sake of his children.” A third asked why Emma wasn’t sad about the move and she tellingly responded: “I’ve been through my sadness for a long time before this final hurdle x.”
However, other fans seemed to be on Gary’s side – and insisted it wasn’t his responsibility to help his ex move on. One commented: “When I split from my ex and had to pack up the family home and two kids, the last thing you would want was for him to help, even if we were on good terms.” Another chimed in: “Everyone saying Gary should have paid/helped her move! Why? It’s your new beginnings, nothing to do with Gary…”
A third fumed: “Why on earth are people saying Gary should pay? Why should he? Did she choose to move? Take control of your life, people. A fourth said: “It’s not his job to change his ex, whether he has kids or not.” While a fifth added: “People acting like Gary abandoned her. For all we know, it may have been Emma’s choice, but they seem to do a great job as co-parents, so that’s certainly what matters now.”
Gaz, 36, and Emma, 31, began dating in 2016 and welcomed son Chester in January 2018 and daughter Primrose in December 2019. In 2021, they married in a lavish ceremony and in For the last six years they have been fixing up a mansion in Leeds. But fans were shocked when they announced they were splitting in October 2023, after just two years of marriage.
Casually revealing the news in an Instagram Q&A with fans, Gaz was asked if he and Emma were still together. He replied, “Hey no, we actually broke up about 3 weeks ago, we’re still friends, there’s no bad blood or anything and we figured out the best way to do this for the kids, which for me and Emma will always be the most important thing.” .” He added: “We both deserve to be happy, as well as being parents.”
The two have now moved on, with the Geordie Shore star said to be dating professional golfer Charley Hull and Emma has since gone public with a new man. But that didn’t stop Emma from criticizing Gaz on social media, where she claimed she looked after the children “alone, 6 nights a week”.
She said in November: “Some days are good, some days are really hard. Doing this alone 6 nights a week, trying to heal, trying to work, planning their birthdays and Christmas in the space of 6 weeks, the mental load alone makes my head fuzzy most days.
